How do I set up a wireless or dialup connection?
I want to browse the Internet via Phaeronix.
I think my winmodem may be at fault -- my setup says I have no modem at all, yet I get online perfectly well on the "windows" side of my new laptop.

Hi, I have a IBM thinkpad laptop, which already has a knoppix/winxp dual boot on it, but I was hoping to get gentoo installed. It's a pain to do it all, and reinstall all the packages from scratch, so I saw phaeronix and decided to try it. When booting off the live cd, i get an error when it tries to run "hdparm" on hdc (cdrom drive). How can i get past this error, or maybe disable hdparm on boot.

After installing Phaeronix, and running emerge --sync,
I get the following message after I try to emerge fluxbox....

!!! ARCH is not set... Are you missing the /etc/make.profile symlink?
!!! Is the symlink correct? Is your portage tree complete?

how do i fix this?
please give many details.

Do U have any tips for me to port phaeronix with no problems?

I mean for example:
If u run specific GUI application for Gnome when u detect a special hardware
i.e. run battery application if u detected a battery info in /proc

I'm a gentoo user and i was really looking for a live distro gentoo based. This phaeronix really impressed me, but i can't get it anywhere. The tracker is down and trying to download it from the mirror is impossible because of server load. is it normal? should i wait for long?

Hi,

I can see that Phaeronix detects my card, but it is muted and I cannot unmute it. My laptop is a Asus M6N. How do I get it working properly? The sound card is a SigmaTel and uses the: ALSA_CARDS="intel8x0"

Anyone that can help?
