Well thought this would never happen, but believe it or not, I have at last generated a prototype of the next version!
It still has some wrinkles that need to be ironed out, but those should be easy.
I had a hard time trimming the system down to fit on the CD, I had to remove a lot of cruft. There are still some packages I'd like to add becasue they serve a good purpose, and other packages that need to be tested.
For example I want to add baghdad support for arabic spell checking. I have my eye on Listen and GpixPOD
Also waiting for the gstreamer-0.10 ports of acast and gnomebaker, and the gcc4 version of qemu.
I may have to remove stuff from the CD to free space for these things, blender is a good candidate, although I love it's "WOW" effect on windows would be converts.
Once I have a good working version I will make a beta release and I'll need help from anyone who is willing with testing and bug reporting. I may even install an issue tracker somewhere... thinking about trac.
That's it for now.
