Sound card doesn't work properly

Hi,

I can see that Phaeronix detects my card, but it is muted and I cannot unmute it. My laptop is a Asus M6N. How do I get it working properly? The sound card is a SigmaTel and uses the: ALSA_CARDS="intel8x0"

.. in /etc/make.conf

Anyone that can help?

alsamixer

I compile all sound card drivers and as you said they get auto detected. Did you try unmuting it from alsamixer?

run alsamixer in a console and try changing the volumes there.
